» Thousands of demonstrators descended on downtown L.A. on Saturday to march in opposition to the near-total abortion ban that was recently adopted in Texas. “When the Supreme Court rejected an emergency request to block Texas’s abortion ban, they effectively took the next step towards overturning Roe v. Wade. Simply put: We are witnessing the most dire threat to abortion access in our lifetime,” the Women’s March said on its website. [Los Angeles Times]

» Clint Eastwood scored a $6.1 million payday in his lawsuit against a Lithuanian CBD company accused of making it look like the Dirty Harry star had endorsed their products. The company failed to respond to the star’s complaint, which led to a default judgement. [TMZ]

»  Novelist Dave Eggers has a new book out this week, and it’s only being sold at independent bookstores. The book, titled The Every, is a sort of continuation of his novel The Circle, about tech-turned-surveillance run amuck. [Los Angeles Times]

» Two men allegedly involved in the brazen robbery of a $500,000 watch at Beverly Hills restaurant Il Pastaio back in March have pleaded guilty to charges against them. Twenty-one-year-old Malik Lamont Powell and 18-year-old Khai McGhee admitted during a hearing in federal court to being part of a group of five men who carried out the holdup. » A cache of 11.9 million files regarding the offshore financial dealings of dozens of world leaders and prominent business people. The so-called Pandora papers “reveal the inner workings of what is a shadow financial world, providing a rare window into the hidden operations of a global offshore economy that enables some of the world’s richest people to hide their wealth and in some cases pay little or no tax.” [The Guardian]
