Los Angeles City Council Officially Supports Occupy L.A.

After more than two hours of discussion, the Los Angeles City Council unanimously approved a resolution Wednesday in support of Occupy LA

According to KCET, the resolution supports “the continuation of the peaceful and vibrant exercise in First Amendment rights” of the hundreds of demonstrators now camping outside city hall in protest of the nation’s economic inequality and set forth plans for the council to hear the details of a banking measure that would move city funds from banks that are not cooperating with foreclosure prevention efforts into banks that reinvest in the L.A. community.

Mayor Villaragosa will need to sign off for the resolution to go into affect.
