Los Angeles Mayor Eric Garcetti has tested positive for COVID, his office announced Wednesday.

Garcetti, who is fully vaccinated, is “feeling good and isolating in his hotel room,” according to a statement posted on his official Twitter account.

The mayor is currently in Glasgow, Scotland for a United Nations conference on climate change, according to reports. He was initially scheduled to moderate a panel Wednesday on international financial support for city-level climate initiatives before participating in another discussion regarding solutions on climate change.

He was set to return to L.A. on Thursday, but will likely have to adjust those plans.

In a statement released to the press, spokesman Alex Comisar said that Garcetti was regularly tested for COVID while at the conference.

Garcetti was vaccinated against COVID earlier this year, so his positive test is considered a breakthrough infection.
