The mayor is currently in Glasgow, Scotland for a United Nations conference on climate change, according to reports. He was initially scheduled to moderate a panel Wednesday on international financial support for city-level climate initiatives before participating in another discussion regarding solutions on climate change.
He was set to return to L.A. on Thursday, but will likely have to adjust those plans.
In a statement released to the press, spokesman Alex Comisar said that Garcetti was regularly tested for COVID while at the conference.
Garcetti was vaccinated against COVID earlier this year, so his positive test is considered a breakthrough infection.
