There’s Been Another Jetpack Spotting at LAX

Jetpack’s back (alright!)

Perhaps you thought the weirdo-with-a-jetpack story from a few weeks ago was an isolated incident. Maybe you weren’t even sure it was real. Well, buckle up, because there’s been yet another jetpack sighting near LAX.

On Wednesday afternoon, a China Airlines crew member spotted what appeared to be a person flying with a jetpack at an altitude of around 6,500 feet.

According to the Los Angeles Times, the crew member’s report was shared with air traffic control, who alerted the FAA and law enforcement agencies. The FBI was involved in the investigation of the previous jetpack spotting on August 29, but any findings of that investigation have not yet been released to the public.

So, for now, whatever is going on remains a mystery.

There is only one company in the U.S. that claims to have made a backpack style jetpack that can give a human being flight. That company, JetPack Aviation Corp, is located in Van Nuys–but the brand’s CEO told the Times that he doesn’t think the sightings are coming from his team.
