It’s Not Too Late To Get Your Summer Whites Dirty This Weekend: A Guide To Camping Over Labor Day

38

Don’t let the soaring temps and reality TV programming fool you—the unofficial end of summer is days away. No plans for Labor Day Weekend? You’re in luck—if camping is your thing. Camp-California.com has compiled a list of nearby campsites that still have availability over the holiday. There are more openings than we’d imagine—guess fall snuck up on everyone.

Here are three destinations that caught our eye:

Kamp Klamath, Klamath
Despite how it’s spelled, we’re pretty sure the campground has zero to do with the Kardashians, and the fact that Klamath is offering three nights for the price of two and serving up an all-you-can-eat BBQ dinner with live music around a campfire has us singing Kumbaya.

Gold Country Campground, Pine Grove
Located in the foothills of the Sierra Nevadas, Gold Country is perfect for outdoorsy types who aren’t ashamed at liking the finer things in life: fully outfitted cabins are available for rent. The Wild West Law Dawgs, a group of performers who dress like it’s the Gold Rush, should make a stay extra fun for kids.

Oak Creak RV Resort, El Cajon
Because it’s close to Sea World, San Diego Zoo, and the Del Mar Racetrack, Oak Creak campers will have more to do than BBQ and play horseshoes—although those are options, too. The site is for RVs only, so be sure to ride up in style and leave the tents at home.
