Hurry Up And Wait

This is It, the motion picture tribute put together from behind-the-scenes footage of Michael Jackson’s comeback concert tour rehearsals, doesn’t premiere world-wide until October 28, but 3,000 tickets to advance screenings at Regal Cinemas L.A. Live (the theater will be showing the film simultaneously on all 14 screens on October 27) will be made available to fans who line up early—really early. Like, this weekend.

The L.A. Live box office will begin selling tickets on Sunday at 12:01 a.m., and fans are welcome to get in line tonight at 5.  I’ve got no suggestions on how to pass that kind of wait—although I’m sure Jackson’s biggest fans will be out in force with music and stories about the late idol, and the singers and dancers from This Is It who will be on hand to sign a tribute wall at L.A. Live at 4 just might stick around to share some memories of their own—but if you’re looking for a way to celebrate getting your ticket Sunday morning, head over to the Hollywood Forever Cemetery and try to scalp a ticket to Bon Iver’s sold-out sunrise concert. It would be a shocking change of scenery, sure, but free coffee and pastries are included.
