In February Los Angeles magazine and L.A Works asked Angelenos to show their love (or lack thereof) for the city in the short-film contest Get L.A. Last month we announced the winners, but here are four details we didn’t provide:
Hollywood’s Grauman’s Chinese Theatre, Hollywood & Highland, and the Walk of Fame nabbed screen time in most entries. Tourists, you’ve been discovered.
City of Angel
Despite the city’s nickname, only L.A. Dreaming tells the story of an angel in Los Angeles. One of the angel’s favorite places? Hollywood Boulevard, of course.
What a Rush
Several submissions—including three of the eight finalists—featured time-lapse photography, prompting talk of launching Discovery Channel L.A.
Harry Shearer, Shelley Long, and comedian Chris Wylde popped up in entries, and one was submitted by Academy Award-nominated director Lyn Goldfarb.
