These Photos Capture an Empty Los Angeles We May Never See Again

From Boyle Heights to the beaches, a visual tour of an L.A. we probably won’t see again in our lifetimes

During the pandemic, the normally busy city of Los Angeles has been eerily quiet. From the beaches to the freeways, tourists are long gone and Angeleno’s with non-essential jobs have largely abided by Mayor Garcetti’s safer-at-home order, turning the city’s busiest spaces into ghost towns.

Over last week and weekend, the emptiness gives Los Angeles a wonderful serene quality in the midst of all of the uncertainty. All photos by Ian Logan.
