Driver in High Speed Car Chase Leads Police From Palmdale to Culver City

That’s one way of crossing town quickly mid day

The driver of a white SUV led police on a multi-neighborhood tour of Los Angeles Monday when he refused to pull over— in Palmdale. From there the car in pursuit sped from the 14 to the 210, 5, 170 and 101 freeways, then took surface streets through Hancock Park, Koreatown, Beverly Hills, and Culver City, narrowly avoiding accidents with other cars and a pedestrian along the way. The driver stopped the SUV after crashing through a gate in Culver City, then fled on foot to the roof of an apartment building in the 9600 block of Lucerne Avenue—where he’s now resisting arrest. CBS reports one of the suspects in the vehicle had been wanted in connection with a drive-by shooting.

UPDATE 6 p.m.: The driver, who stayed on the roof all afternoon, has reportedly been taken into custody.
