Drama Queens: The Event

“What’s she like? What’s she like?” That’s all anyone could sputter to me after I’d announced I’d met Susan Lucci, the queen of daytime drama. She’s unbelievable sweet. And yes, she is tiny. And yes, at 63 and even without makeup she is more beautiful than most 40-year-olds could dream of being. A photo crew and I spent an entire day with her on the set of All My Children, which just relocated its production from New York to Los Angeles. La Lucci and her castmates Denise Vasi, Rebecca Budig, and Cameron Mathison were game for anything on the fashion shoot we did for the magazine’s March issue. (“Um, Rebecca—could you change into this bra and garter?”) And now’s your chance to meet all of them. Los Angeles magazine and the Beverly Center are throwing a party to celebrate the mag’s 50th birthday and the show’s 40th. From 5:30 to 6:30 PM, the stars of the fashion layout will sign copies of the March issue. IT takes place at Center Court, Level 6, Beverly Center. Come along—and then you can tell all of your friends that you met Susan Lucci.
