The news this week that Maria Altmann passed away and that Arianna Huffington has sold the Huffington Post to AOL for $315 million brought to mind two stories from our archives.

Altmann, who fought for and won the return of Klimt paintings that were taken from her family during the Nazi era, let us know that she loved “The Art of Memory” by Josh Kun when we ran this profile of her in 2006.
