Hear ye, hear ye, the 2011 Annual Rose Queen and Royal Court tryouts are about to commence. Beginning this Saturday, young Pasadena women ages 17-21 are eligible to compete for the esteemed title and the chance to be seen in the 122nd Rose Parade and Rose Bowl Game by millions. Of the over 1,000 women expected to try out, only seven will be named to the elusive Royal Court.
Thinking about auditioning? During the month-long process, applicants will be asked a series of questions and judged on their speaking ability and poise. Questions range from Pasadena history to knowledge of the Tournament of Roses, and how this year’s theme—Building Dreams, Friendships & Memories—applies to the competitors’ lives.
