Comic Plate

Let’s face it. Personalized license plates can be silly. Well, with the Snoopy plates now available by pre-order for registered drivers in California, they can also benefit the arts. This month, Peanuts and the California Association of Museums announced a partnership whereby the proceeds of special Snoopy license plates will contribute to a designated state fund to benefit California museums. The plates will go into production once 7,500 have been ordered. According to a joint release,  “the plate will be sustainable source of funding for museums without establishing a new tax or fee or drawing from the state’s general fund.” Considering California’s financial crisis, that’s a good thing. I can just see Snoopy dancing now.
