Vermont Senator Bernie Sanders has released endorsements in dozens of down-ballot races–including several closely-watched races in the Los Angeles area.
In a Medium post titled “Building and Strengthening Our Movement Around the Country,” Sanders backed Nithya Raman for L.A. City Council, Fatima Iqbal-Zubair for State Assembly, and George Gascón for District Attorney, among other picks.
“Yes, we all must do everything we can to defeat Donald Trump who is a threat to the very future of our democracy. But it’s not just the White House or seats in the U.S. Congress that are up for grabs in this election,” Sanders wrote in the post. “In every corner of the country, strong progressives are running at the state and local level to represent our movement and lead the fight to transform this country.”
