Heche first crashed into a garage in a nearby apartment complex, according to reports. Residents tried to pull her out of her car, but put the car in reverse and drove toward the home before the vehicle plowed into it a short time after.

Aerial video from showed firefighters on the roof of the home trying to extinguish the fire around 11:30 a.m, via KTLA.

TMZ describes the burns as “severe” and said Heche was “flailing” on the stretcher while trying to escape it. Heche was taken to the hospital, where the Los Angeles Fire Department said she was in critical condition, according to FOX11. No other injuries were reported.
