An Expensive Education

A whopping $200 million dollars. That’s how much money Dana and David Dornsife have just donated to USC’s college of letters, arts, and sciences. David, a USC trustee and 1965 alumnus, is chairman of the Herrick Corporation, the West Coast steel fabricator. Dana is the founder of Lazarex Cancer Foundation. The gift is the largest of its kind and is unusual in that it was gifted to the school without restriction. To thank the Dornsifes, the university will be hosting a community-wide celebration on March 23 and will rename the college the Dana and David Dornsife College of Letters, Arts, and Sciences.
