Walking Wilshire With Jaime The Hat Man

This morning I stopped to say hello to Jaime the hat man as he made his rounds through the Miracle Mile carrying a tall stack of straw Milan hats and lightweight fedoras. I’ve seen mobile merchants toting mounds of toys or cotton candy or Mylar balloons, but never hats. I tried to strike up a conversation with the vendedora before realizing just how truly inexistente my Spanish language skills were. I did find out he was charging $10 just before I found out that my wallet contained only plastic… and just before Jaime gave me this cheerful thumbs up.
