Model-turned-photographer Cara Phillips has just released Singular Beauty, a book of fine art images of cosmetic surgery clinics across the country. The artist selected physicians that had been profiled in magazine spreads on celebrity plastic surgery and visited doctors eager to share their workspaces with the world. Check out what a pair of faux breasts did for our writer Amy Wallace here. Phillips calls the clinics “emotionally charged and physically dangerous.” Patrons can enjoy the picture windows at a Century City operating room that looks out on distant high-rises before succumbing to knockout gas. Or pose at the Beverly Hills clinic with a permanent photo studio for before-and-after shots. The project was funded by a Kickstarter campaign that raised over $17,000 to produce the coffee table book. You can order a copy from the publisher here.
