Following a major redevelopment effort rising out of the 1994 Northridge earthquake, Lankershim Boulevard in North Hollywood is today bustling with a Red Line station, theaters, shops and loft apartments. The Museum of the San Fernando Valley is hosting bi-monthly walking tours. The next one is this Saturday May 14 past these hotspots in search of historic NoHo. For ten bucks, museum docents will take you to the 1896 railroad depot, the Aztec-style Masonic Temple, the remnants of ranchos and even stop by Marilyn Monroe’s elementary school. Meet at the statue of Amelia Earhart and enjoy the valley the way Bing Crosby intended.
