It’s so easy to hear the music, see the movies, wear the clothes, and peer into the life of long-ago folks these days that we almost take it for granted. Sure there are floor shows and chorus girls at the Sportsman’s Lodge…of course there’s a uniformed attendant running the elevator at the Cicada Club. Heritage Square museum, everyone’s favorite architectural petting zoo off the 110, is hosting an “evening of Victorian enchantment” next weekend that sounds really promising. An antebellum séance, 19th century conjuring, and other intimate mystical moments inside a spooky ol’ mansion shipped over from Boyle Heights. Even if the spirits don’t join you, it sounds like a pretty magical evening.
