The classic TV series Route 66 premieres on Hulu today. It’s 1960, and two mismatched best friends (“book smarts” meet “street smarts”) head out looking for adventure on the Main Street of America. The Corvette, the Nelson Riddle theme song, and a litany of colorful guest stars (Buster Keaton and Ed Asner?!) made the show a memorable salute to the famous highway. It’s back just in time for a season full of tributes to the road. The Autry is planning a massive exhibition from June to January, and on June 21 Charles Phoenix is hosting the Wigwam Pow Wow at the historic Wigwam Motel in San Bernardino. Get ready for the Summer of 66.
