The Ramones helped invent punk rock almost 40 years ago. The group disbanded in 1996 and the three founding members are gone, but their legacy lives on in dozens of albums and now, in Marky Ramone’s line of pasta sauce. Yes, this afternoon the rock and roll hall of famer was at the Cheese Store of Beverly Hills dishing out samples of “Marky Ramone’s Brooklyn’s Own” red sauce. Marky Ramone also has a clothing line with Tommy Hilfiger and a DVD, Punk Rock Drumming for Beginners. It’s a long road from CBGB’s to Beverly Hills, but at least he’s keeping it punk by also selling the $88 per case sauce at a hardware store in New Jersey.
