Raise a Toast to Arnold Palmer

The father of the iced tea with lemonade turns 85 today

On this day in 1929, golf legend Arnold Palmer was born. The athlete in the cardigan sweater hasn’t won a PGA tour in 40 years, but his good name brings in about $40 million a year from clothing, golf items, and his signature mixed drink: lemonade and iced tea. The Arizona Beverage company sells 400,000,000 of those every year, and according to this hilarious ESPN documentary, the first restaurant to serve it was in Palm Springs. Will Arnett (have you seen his genius show Bojack Horseman on Netflix?) hosts the short and invents and trademarks his own drink all in less than ten minutes.
