Night at the Museum: True Crime Edition

Just before the sun sets over Highland Park this evening, crime novelist James Ellroy and LAPD Museum director Glynn Martin will kick off “’53 Fest,” an homage to the cops and robbers found in their new book LAPD ’53.

Admission to the nighttime celebration at the Los Angeles Police Museum includes a signed copy of the book, pizza from Eagle Rock’s vintage Casa Bianca, a detailed walk-through of one of the cases in the book with Los Angeles magazine contributor Joan Renner, and a rare color film from the opening of Parker Center presented by historian Nathan Marsak.
