Architect William Krisel designed more than 30,000 homes in the boom years after World War II. His modern homes, often with dramatic rooflines, brought style and grace to the San Fernando Valley and Palm Springs from the 1940s to the 1970s. In recent years, the still very active Krisel has been restoring some of his early homes, as they find new life with a generation of mid-century enthusiasts that seek to return them to their original glory. Come meet the 86-year-old designer and hear his story at a free screening of the film William Krisel, Architect at the Santa Monica library Saturday at 1pm. Here, check out some of the material from his archive at the Getty before you go, so you can have a good question for the Q&A following.
