Lonely hearts will appreciate the perplexed paramours and mysterious journeys of love in A Lost Valentine, a series of short plays at the Lost Studio in Hollywood.
I imagine the large cast of more than a dozen actors hails from the acting studio operated by the smart and tidy little theater hidden above a swanky furniture store. It’s really mysterious and exciting up there.
None of the characters seems to be having very good luck in this show, where shopping, starwatching and seafaring all serve to foil young love. Jeptha Storm’s The Boatsman was especially haunting. You’ll never look at Echo Park Lake the same way again. Bring a date, maybe not a first date, and enjoy the show.
Ironically, this evening of lost love skips Valentine’s Day and resumes on Saturday.
