Every time I visit Little Tokyo I see something new and special and secret. Tiny magical things hide everywhere. On my way to the Art in the Streets exhibition at MOCA recently, I dropped in to Suehiro Cafe for lunch. For the past several years the owners have saved hundreds of napkins, chopstick wrappers and scraps of paper customers have scribbled on, wrapped them in plastic and hung them on the walls. The gallery of tiny art is sensational and sentimental. Action-filled anime, sketches of family reunions and numerous takes on Japanese pop culture. It was the perfect appetizer for MOCA’s blockbuster. Enjoy the slideshow!
