If you buy or sell a native rattlesnake for food, the law will bite you. That means you’ll have to catch a diamondback yourself (not something I’d recommend) and roast it over your own cowboy campfire. If you truly care for reptilian delights, downtown’s Wurstküche offers a predator/prey sausage that blends snake from elsewhere with rabbit. Or what about trying out that African crawler, the python? The restaurant iPho in Fountain Valley offers it on a menu teeming with wildlife. The cooks lightly season the grilled alligator, ostrich, emu, and alpaca with herbs such as thyme, oregano, and rosemary. Makes me want a nice tofu steak.
