The Glendale cemetery boasts scores of artworks (probably that many dead celebrities, too) and was once the top tourist attraction in Southern California. Onetime owner Hubert Eaton installed his first replica of the Michelangelo masterpiece in 1939. The 17-foot statue was later augmented with an audio history that dramatized the battle between David and Goliath. Ongoing maintenance issues silenced the speakers in the 1990s.
