Have you been to the Natural History Museum since they installed the amazing new Dinosaur Hall? I took a tour through the new building with Dr. Luis M. Chiappe, who not only manages the county’s collection of dinosaurs, but also leads expeditions out into the rocks in search of new specimens. In fact, he’s head of the “Dinosaur Institute” at the museum. We talked about how they re-examine old bones with new technology, how there’s a California focus to their excavation efforts and how we both shared an admiration for the same TV caveman. Grab your fedora and grab your bullwhip, we’re going dinosaur hunting! Watch the video here.
