Los Angeles Magazine Picks Up A Prestigious Ellie At The National Magazine Awards
And we couldn't be more honored.
Editor In Chief Mary Melton with our brand new Ellie
As you may recall, Los Angeles magazine was nominated for two National Magazine Awards this year, one in the category of Personal Service and one in Leisure Interests.
We couldn’t be more excited to announce that our October 2012 package on Plastic Surgery in L.A., edited by Nancy Miller, took home the Personal Service Ellie (named for the elephantine Alexander Calder-designed trophies) at last night’s ceremony in New York. Other Personal Service finalists included Esquire, GQ, Real Simple and Outside.
Put on by the American Society of Magazine Editors (ASME), the National Magazine Awards are held annually and are the highest tribute in magazine publishing. This is the third Ellie that Los Angeles has brought home since 2011, when we were thrilled to win two awards, one for General Excellence (for our February 2011, September 2011, and November 2011 issues) and another for Feature Writing (for contributing writer Ben Ehrenreich’s story “The End”).
