The ensemble from Los Llanos Orientales—cattle-rearing country that stretches from Colombia to Venezuela—plays spirited dance music called joropoa. The group’s high-pitched singing was nominated for a Grammy Award in 2005 and for four Independent Music Awards in 2012, winning Best Latin Album for ¡Cimarrón!
