Graffiti has received considerable academic study, but MOCA’s Geffen Contemporary space is curating the first survey of street art by a major American museum. The show will trace the evolution of the guerrilla aesthetic in key urbs such as New York, L.A., and São Paulo. Their contributions are examined in the painting, sculpture, and interactive installations of 30 masters of the craft. Best of all, Los Angeles receives its props—as seen through cholo tags and Dogtown skateboard culture. More information.
