Let’s Go Nude
Undress your beauty routine with Clinique’s New Shades of Beige Collection
If you’re ready to wipe of your party face in favor of a fresh look to kick-start the New Year, you’re in luck: Clinique has combined the best new nudes into one all-encompassing collection of shadows and nail enamels.
Spot on for this season, the must-have octet of eyeshadows ($36) is brilliant because it addresses the fact that medium to darker skinned women (like yours truly) have limited nude options to flatter our light tan, medium olive, or dark brown skin tones. And, unlike so many others, this isn’t a bland palette with two shimmering colors you use down to the pan while the rest of the shades in the pack collect dust. As Clinique Global color artist Jenna Menard puts it, “The options are endless. Women aren’t intimidated by the color palette, so they can feel comfortable really playing with the different shades to create a look all their own.”
Every single, demi-matte neutral shade in the collection (with the exception of Chocolate On My Pillow, a perfectly pearly warm brown) can be worn on its own or easily layered with just about any other shadow in your beauty drawer. And, none of them turn ashy, which often is the case with darker-hued product. Plus, you can pair either of the pinky beige or buttery nude shadows with your favorite vampy red lipstick and the finish won’t appear too shimmery, which is a good thing for anyone who wants to wear these shades to work. The sleek case is comfortably portable, so you can pack it along for touch ups for party dressing, too. Want to acquire a polished look instead? Add one of the nail enamels ($12.50), which will elegantly elongate your hands.
As expected with Clinique, the products are allergy-tested, but did you know they were tested 12 times on 600 people? If even one of those 7,200 applications incites an allergic reaction, the lab starts from scratch. Proof there’s safety—and beauty—in numbers.
