The much adored, much tanned designer Valentino Garavani swooped into town for a two-day, three-event lovefest. First night—LACMA - the site of the West Coast premiere of Matt Tyrnauer's docu, Valentino: The Last Emperor. There wasn't an empty seat in the house and Gwyneth Paltrow, Anne Hathaway and Rita Wilson stopped by. Afterwards—raves (the flick is playing at the Laemmle Sunset Five now). The next morning Valentino awoke before noon along with reliable ol' Anne Hathaway and he was inducted into The Rodeo Drive Walk of Style—previous inductees have included Giorgio Armani, Manolo Blanik and James Galanos. Afterwards drinks and fancy nibbleys at the Beverly Hills Hotel/Bar Nineteen 12. "I am completely drunk with compliments," the designer said after both events. "Maybe now that I am older things make me more emotional." The same night, the 77-year-old hit Taschen in Bev Hills to sign copies of his new book Valentino A Grand Italian Epic. Madonna!
