Bernstein joined Los Angeles magazine in 2008. Previously she was an associate editor at the Los Angeles Times Magazine, having completed internships there and with the L.A. Times’ Food section. She also wrote stories for the Food section in addition to the magazine. A fourth-generation Angeleno who often helps at her family’s antiquarian bookstore downtown, Bernstein graduated with a bachelor's degree in English from UCLA and a master’s in print journalism from USC’s Annenberg School for Communication.
