All the Colors of the Spectrum

The special section on autism in the September issue of Los Angeles magazine lists more than 40 schools and programs for children with an autism spectrum disorder

This artwork, originally featured in the exhibition Through Our Eyes: A Celebration of Young Artists at the James Gray Gallery in Santa Monica, was created by students of The Help Group, a collection of Los Angeles-area special-needs schools and the largest nonpublic provider of specialized education programs for children with an autism spectrum disorder in the United States. The Help Group believes that the arts play an integral role in fostering students' self-expression, self-discovery, creativity, and talent. The nonprofit is planning another exhibition at the James Gray Gallery in March 2011.
