Harvesting History

Our cover image for the October issue on the edible garden was inspired by illustrated fruit crate labels from the early 20th century. Today the original labels are collectors' items, coveted for their colorful, artistic designs. Many beautiful examples can be found in the Citrus Crate Label Collection of the Corona Public Library (see the slide show below) and in an exhibition at the Craft and Folk Art Museum through January 10. Others are for sale at the Library Store at downtown's Central Library.
