Another week almost over, another Barnsdall Friday Night Wine Tasting Fundraiser coming up! Curious about this week’s line up? Silver Lake Wine‘s Randy Clement fills us in on what to expect:

Chateau La Liquiere “Mi Chemin” Blanc l’Herault, 2013, France
Started in the 1960s, Chateau La Liquiere is one of the must0drink wineries from the Languedoc region of southern France. This wine, Mi Chemin, is their easy drinking summer sipper. It is a blend of many different native southern French varietals, predominantly Grenache Blanc. The wine is round in the mouth with beautiful hints of stone fruit and a nice crisp citrus finish.

Arca Nova Rose Vinho Verde, NV, Portugal
Vinho Verde is not only a style of wine but also a region in Portugal. The wines are always crisp and refreshing, and tend to have slightly lower alcohol and a slight effervescence. Arca Nova is one of our favorite Vinho Verde producers and this rosé-style Vinho Verde is 100% of a lesser known Portuguese grape called Espadeiro. A killer picnic wine!

Loios Alentejano, 2011, Portugal
Loios is a wine produced in the Alentejo region, located in the south of Portugal. It’s name originates from the title given in the 15th century to the members of the ancient Priest Congregation of St. John Evangelist, known simply as Loios. The Loios Red is a blend of traditional red varieties from this region; such as Aragones, Trincadeira, and Castelao. The wine is very fresh on the palate and has beautiful deep red berry fruit notes.

Familia Stortini “Etcetera” Malbec Mendoza
From the Napa Valley of Argentina called Mendoza comes this glorious full-bodied Malbec. This is my new favorite full-bodied red wine. Awesome aromas of dried fruits and spice with a round easy finish, this is your new BBQ wine for the summer.
