On Trial: Dr. Perricone No Concealer Concealer

A nifty two-in-one solution for tired eyes

The good news: Spring is nearly here. The bad news: As the days get longer, it's easier to miss out on those crucial eight hours of sleep, and I never seem to find time the next morning to catch up on the rest I promise myself the night before. It’s no wonder the first place I show signs of aging is under my eyes. Thus, I’m always trying to get the right blend of a great eye cream—one that doesn’t leave too greasy a finish—and an even greater concealer that isn’t too cakey.

You’ve got to hand it to Dr. Perricone, who addressed both needs with one product. The No Concealer Concealer ($45) is an ingenious little wonder that helps you look awake and refreshed with just a single pump of peachy beige liquid. This upscale multitasker also doubles as a broad spectrum, mineral-based SPF 35 to protect the fragile skin around the eye, which is prone to dryness, and also prevents those dark circles from getting darker.

Take it from a girl who has little time for an arsenal of products in the morning: I adore the dual benefits of the concealer, which uses neuropeptides to firm and lift the sagging skin and vitamin C for brightness. Both work together to improve fine lines and wrinkles and help cover imperfections without settling into creases. The neutrally balanced peachy shade will suit most light-to-medium skin tones, and the non-chemical formula works well with even the most sensitive skin types (and contact-lens wearers).

The concealer does a fantastic job of covering up minor discolorations, and the non-sticky texture is superbly easy to blend with the feathery touch of your finger. It won’t fade by noon, and the smallest bit goes a long way. As much as it pains me to stay up later than 11 p.m., I now feel better knowing I can diffuse the next morning’s consequences with minimal effort. I say: Fake it till you make (to bed).
