A Bronze Festivus For The Rest of Us

Rihanna’s body-baring styles may not be for everyone. Thanks to M.A.C, her beachy beauty look sure is

Bronzer is a tricky thing to master, especially this time of year. If you’re fair, chances are you’re afraid of it making you look too carroty. If you’re mid-toned, like me, you probably wonder if you really need to look tanned right now anyway. And, if you’re darker, you’re likely afraid of looking blotchy instead of beachy.

But I’m here to set the record straight: Bronzer works on all skin colors all year around.

The latest proof: RiRi ♥ M·A·C Holiday Bronzing Powder ($30), a limited edition powder encased in exclusive white-pearl packaging with RiRi’s signature rose-gold detailing. The been-on-a-vacation shade is part of Rihanna’s third and final color collaboration with the celeb-friendly brand. Made for all-day wear, the color isn’t too fakey cakey orange or muddy brown, but rather a soft, diffused tone with a touch of sparkling copper overlaid on top. A few sweeps of the stuff over the cheeks and eyes gives a pretty, sunny sheen with a teensy bit of luminescence.

Still not sure you can pull the product off? (After all, Rihanna does get away with daring looks we wouldn’t dream of.) Check out Mac artist Amber Dreadon’s tips on tweaking your bronzer application. You’ll be rocking that totally natural, ethereal radiance like a pop star in a flash.
