ON TRIAL: Mai Couture Lavender Rejuvenate Oil Blotting Papier

Noontime shine. We all get it, and some more than others (like me). I mean, after layering on the moisturizer, SPF, and BB cream for my workday, it’s a wonder I’m not a shining blob of a mess by 9:00 a.m. With lunchtime often comes that heavy feeling of skin begging to be wiped clean.

To remedy my daily T-zone problem, I recently tried out a pack of Mai Couture Lavender Rejuvenate Oil Blotting Papier ($13). Each tissue-thin sheet is infused with Lavender oil to help you freshen up by dabbing over oily spots. I used just one tissue-thin sheet before lunch and was happily surprised when my foundation stayed put. In the past, I’ve found some oil blotting papers to leave traces of powder, but thankfully, no residue was left behind to muck up the mixture of my natural sebum and makeup—two things I didn’t want to suddenly be without. Another plus: the pack is easy to take along in a tote—the booklet includes 100 tissues, which ought to last you over 3 months. Not too shabby for a quick fixer-upper.
