Makeup Junkie: How To Save Face At Coachella

It's not easy to stay fresh all day at Coachella. You sweat your face off running from stage to stage and those packed tents become human-powered saunas. Touch ups in the port-a-potties can be dodgy, especially as night falls. I test drove a few recently-released beauty products that can definitely stand up to the heat.

LIPS: Make Up For Ever Aqua Rouge. This lip stain won't go away. I put it on in the morning and it lasts through lunch and dinner and beyond. I've accidentally fallen asleep with it on and it was still hanging around the next morning. The latest colors— #17 (a vibrant orange) and #14 (a bright fuschia)— add a whollop pop of color, while  #20 (a pale pink) can provide the right balance to a more dramatic smokey eye.

EYELASHES. Clinique High Impact Waterproof Mascara. You can cry a river during your favorite song or dance in the misters and this mascara won't run. It will stay on all weekend if you don't take it off (though, it will flake a bit if you sleep with it on, so that's not recommended).

FACE: Avene's Haute Protection is a tinted compact packing a 50 SPF punch. The handy compact comes with a sponge and a mirror for quick and dirty reapplications.

EYEBROWS. Make Up For Ever Aqua Brow. I can't say enough about this product. I was born with fairly anemic eyebrows and have to add color to make them stand out, but brow powders and pencils disappear at the first sign of persperation—not this stuff. The waterproof cream dries and seals and won't rub or wash off without some serious effort.
