Harry Winston jewels are always at home at the Academy Awards, as the designer was the first to lend his pieces out to Oscar-goers back in 1943, and Jessica Chastain was the leading lady this award season in carrying on the tradition. She wore $3 million worth of Harry Winston diamonds to the Golden Globes, a $1.25 million Harry Winston diamond necklace to the SAG Awards, and finally 34 carats of Harry Winston Jewels to the Oscars, turning heads especially with her vintage 1967 diamond and gold bracelet. Sandra Bullock’s hair brooch and Olivia Munn’s yellow diamond earrings were other Harry Winston standouts.
Winston started his jeweler career as an apprentice at his father’s quaint jewelry store in Santa Monica, and his jewels have since been present at some of the award shows’ most newsworthy moments, like when Halle Berry become the first African American woman to be named Best Actress in 2002 while donning the pumpkin diamond ring. Whether a look flew or flopped and whether a nominee took home the big win or not, diamonds are always a girl's best friend.
