Isabel Marant's L.A. - L.A. Style - Los Angeles magazine

Isabel Marant's L.A.

It's no secret young Hollywood loves Isabel Marant. They're always dropping her name on (more casual) red carpets. We asked the Parisian designer, who opened her first west coast boutique on Melrose Place earlier this month, to describe the L.A. look.  "L.A. women are quite sporty and look more casual and cool than in other cities," she says, "and the weather allows them to be dressed in that way." She admits that when she's on the best coast, she too, tends to dress more casually and summery.  "When I'm in LA, I become an L.A. girl," Marant says.

We also asked her for a list of her top 5 favorite LA boutiques, she obliged:

1.) Mr Freedom, vintage clothes, 7161 Beverly Blvd.
2.) Free City, 1139 N. Highland Ave
3.) James Perse, 1128 Highland Ave.
4.) What Goes Around Comes Around, for vintage clothes, great shop, La Brea
5.) Oliver Peoples, really good sunglasses, 8570 West Sunset Blvd.
