Fashion blogs are buzzing about the bright yellow-chartreuse dresses on the red carpet at last night’s Emmy Awards, but amidst the flash of all these brilliant gowns, we noticed a more elusive trend. Girls wasn’t the only thing snubbed at the Emmy’s. It seems actresses across all genres have united in protest against an iconic and ritual piece of red carpet couture: the necklace.
Why did so many actresses attend the Emmy’s necklace-less? Are we witnessing some form of rebellion? Or a return to minimalism? Have the effects of a declined economy finally filtered through the ranks? Perhaps, by some inconceivable and bizarre coincidence, they all simply forgot.
