We’ve been talking a lot about getting L.A.’d (because of Mayor Villaraigosa’s Made In L.A. Initiative, of course) but on November 17 from 2PM-6PM Fred Segal's Rocks & Silk in Santa Monica will turn our attention East by hosting two philanthropic fashion events. Two designers with East Coast roots will donate 10% of sales from this public event to The American Red Cross in support of Hurricane Sandy victims.
Ripley Rader Jumpsuit Launch
After growing up in West Virginia surrounded by her family’s textile business, Ripley Rader (wearing a sequin jumpsuit in the article thumbnail) took her passion for one-piece dressing west and made Los Angeles her creative home. What began as the pursuit of the perfect go-to outfit has evolved into a line of casual to formal jumpers that provide all women with a fit and fabric to celebrate their personal style (above). Ripley, who was dubbed “the jumpsuit designer” by Fred Segal, will be on-site at Rocks & Silk to celebrate the launch of her chic yet effortless designs.
Campbell Jewelry Trunk Show
Though based in New York, Michelle Campbell Mason’s first jewelry collection ‘Second Nature’ was largely inspired by her connection to Laurel Canyon, Los Angeles. This Fall 2012 line, which features contrasting textures and clean lines drawn from nature, will be available at the trunk show. Advance orders will also be taken for her Spring/Summer 2013 line of jewelry that reshapes shields, claws, and fish eyes drawn from the hit HBO series ‘Game of Thrones’ into modern shapes (above).
