Elyse Walker Thinks Pink

If you’ve seen an excess of pink lately (even NFL players are sporting pink accessories), that’s because October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month. To end the season with a bang, Elyse Walker presents the 8th Annual pink party: an evening to benefit the Cedars-Sinai Women’s Cancer Program and its progressive cancer research. Esteemed actress Michelle Pfeiffer will be hosting the evening, which will feature a fashion show including designers like Barbara Bui, Stella McCartney, Chloé, J. Mendel, and Valentino. With a 54-foot catwalk under construction, it has already been labeled L.A.’s largest fashion event of the year.

The pink party was founded in honor of Elyse’s mother, who was diagnosed with stage 4 ovarian cancer. Not only did Elyse manage to simultaneously take over the family retail business and graduate from college; she has also succeeded in raising over $6 million for the Cedars-Sinai program at the Oschin Comprehensive Cancer Institute.

In addition to the fashion show, the event will include a silent auction for designer handbags and jewelry and a live auction of items such as a luxury vacation, car, and artwork by local artist Retna. Celebrities in open support of the event include Jennifer Garner and Ben Affleck, Kate Beckinsale and Len Wiseman, Jennifer Meyer Maguire and Tobey Maguire, Stacy Keibler, Julia Louis-Dreyfus, and Jamie Lee Curtis. How can you help? Attend the benefit at Hangar 8 in Santa Monica or purchase pink party exclusive items like the Supra Pink Party Skytop (below) from forwardbyelysewalker.com—a percentage of the proceeds will be donated to the Cedars-Sinai program.
