Shailene Woodley: A SAG Awards Red Carpet Makeover

By now you've seen photos and read the red carpet fashion police reports about the dress Shailene Woodley wore to the SAG Awards on Sunday. Woodley, who made her big screen debut in The Descendants set in Hawaii, was clearly attempting to channel her onscreen island fashions onto the red carpet. And though we appreciate conceptual dressing,  given the prestige of the event she should have taken a more elegant approach.

HOW WE WOULD HAVE DRESSED HER: A brightly colored gown from Badgley Mischka’s 2012 Resort Collection embodies both tropical vibrancy and elegant sophistication with a simple pair of platforms like Jimmy Choo's Sierra Glitter-Coated Platform Sandals and a red carpet staple— a Judith Lieber clutch— this one conch shaped, which kicks the whole aloha nod up another notch. Now what to do with that no-can-do updo and lack of jewelry? Ideas are welcome...
