Part-magazine, part-catalogue and part-tangible Pinterest board, anthologies are becoming a popular medium for some of our favorite local brands (Nasty Gal, THVM, Citizens of Humanity) to get their fashion philosophy across. It’s a little like flipping through a deconstructed collage—There’s an avocado covered in metallic paint and press-on nails on one page, and a full-fledged editorial spread on the next. Interviews, restaurant listings, horoscopes, photography, design techniques and history lessons—all alongside shots of the collections—make up most of the material. They definitely get it all across better than a one-page ad ever could, and they make for a pretty sharp coffee table display.
